Ledgewood's Peach Festival

The pamphlet contained a schedule of events and many ads.

Most of the local businesses no longer exist but Salmon Brothers Construction still does.

Ledgewood Baptist has sponsored variations of the Peach Festival for almost 100 years.

The earliest version was known as Gala Day and it was held early in September.  Although the booklet said it was not about raising money, it really was.  The new church had a mortgage to be paid!

The Baby Parade has been a long tradition at our festivals.

On the left, the parade rests at the King House at the bottom of Main Street; below is one of the floats in the 1950s.

This photo was taken back when 1923 was new.

To the right, Uncle Sam and his girlfriend.

In the 1960s we added a Peach Queen.  This queen is Cathy Johnson.

We don't know who decorated the Volkswagon Bug in 1981.

Hulse Mooney was the grand marshal in 1920.
Mooney Road is named after his family.

The main parade reaches the bottom of Main Street in 1917.
