If you are running the 64-bit version of Vista you
will have problems installing the SID database
because SID is based on a 32-bit program. (Only a few Vista users have the
64-bit version; most have the 32-bit version which should run okay). CorFlags.exe C:\Program Files\SID\SID.exe /32BIT+ If "CorFlags.exe" doesn't work, try "CoreFlags.exe" instead. If you
installed SID to another directory, type the path to SID on the line. If this doesn't work, you can try running SID inside an
XP Virtual PC
image inside Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate. This is
not a perfect solution but it is the best we have right now.
The SID programmers in New Zealand are working on a new version that will be
compatible with Vista 64. It will be a big task and since they are
volunteers there is no idea when it will be completed. As soon as it is,
it will be posted on the website.
You can force early versions of Vista 64 to run 32-bit programs with this tweak
(it doesn't work for the current version of Vista 64). It forces
Vista 64 to run the app in 32-bit mode along with any associated DLL's that it
uses. At the
RUN command (select Start Menu, choose
RUN - at least that is how you do it in Windows XP - then type in this
line:
