Welcome to the SID readme! If you are reading this then it is assumed that you have installed the SID Sermon and Illustration database. The following provides information concerning both the SID program and the Holwick database that it uses.

SID Program:
The SID program has been developed by B.Wilton and I.Gordon. It is a 'front-end' program which accesses a database containing sermons and Bible illustrations. A database will be installed with the SID program but it only contains one sermon and one illustration. There are thousands of sermons and illustration that can be imported into the database however, and this is discussed below in the 'Holwick Database' section.

Holwick Database:
The SID program uses a database that has been designed and maintained by Rev. David Holwick. Regular database updates are added to his website and can be downloaded from there.

Database Updates are available from the following website address: http://www.holwick.com/serm-dat.html

The database Updates (or Sermon/illustration supplements) will need to be downloaded from the above address and then imported into SID using the Tools - Import Database Utility.
